ACCEPTANCE
What you don’t accept runs you. Let that phrase roll around in your head for a moment. That which you do not accept runs you.
Acceptance is the most powerful piece of the recording I offer at all of my seminars called SELF IMAGE – a picture is worth a thousand pep talks squared. The essence of the recording is to let you know that your self image is the controlling force of your life and that you can easily update it. You had nothing to do with this image getting in your mind. It got in there by accident through social, cultural, and parental conditioning. You were an innocent sponge. And this image runs every aspect of your life.
The key to updating your self-image is acceptance. Denial is the opposite of acceptance and denial will keep doors that you want to open for yourself locked forever – no matter how hard you try. Acceptance is always the answer. Acceptance of yourself and acceptance of your life situation is essential for growth. Acceptance does not mean resignation. It means to accept the reality that’s right in front of you. If you deny your reality, you will put another padlock on your self-imposed prison cell and you will experience eternal frustration.
By accepting your reality, you then broaden the playing field. The denial of your reality is like a set a blinders they put on a horse to block its peripheral vision. This broader playing field shows you doors that were always there for you to walk through but you were blinded by denial.
Acceptance is not necessarily easy but it’s not difficult either. It is essential.
Many people have trouble accepting their age, their financial condition, their current relationship or their life’s circumstances just to name a few. The minute you accept your situation, “warts and all,” the playing field widens and there are more openings for you that you would never had seen in denial.
It’s difficult for us to admit certain things to ourselves even though we know they are true. The denial of our situation keeps it ever present on our mind and as I said at the beginning – what you don’t accept runs you. They are haunting thoughts and they hang around. When you fully accept your situation, there may be some initial sadness which is always followed by a list of options that were never noticed.
I request you buy a copy of SELF IMAGE – a picture is worth a thousand pep talks squared today and experience this phenomenon of acceptance and how quickly your life changes as a result. You can buy on line at http://johnmorganseminars.com The tape is $19.95 and the CD is $29.95. |
