John Morgan Newsletter – S P A C E S
Is there someone with whom you have a grudge? Have you wronged someone and neglected to apologize? Is there some unfinished business you have with someone that needs tending to? If so, please read something I wrote a number of years ago called THE OPPORTUNITY. You will find it below.
Also, I have written a piece called KNOW LESS and DISCOVER MORE. It was a personal epiphany for me and I thought I’d share one of my personal journal entries with you from just a few years ago and see if you can relate it to your life.
Finally, I have begun a syndicated radio program called MAKE CHANGES RAPIDLY. It discusses the applications of Hypnosis for a variety of different things that people struggle with. If the program is not yet being aired where you live, you can listen to it on our website – http://johnmorganseminars.com It should be there by early next week, if not before. Also, if you are one of the 40 million people who have and iPod, you can download the show to your iPod in the days to come via iTunes. Again, the show is called MAKE CHANGES RAPIDLY.
“The Opportunity”
Almost everyone longs for The Opportunity but this chance doesn’t present itself to most.
The Opportunity is presented to only a few and most of them do not act on it.
The small percentages of people who do act on The Opportunity have peace and contentment for the balance of their days.
The unsettling news is that the people who never had The Opportunity presented to them and the ones who did and passed it up, share something in common.
They either regret for the rest of their life that they never got The Opportunity, or they forever rue not acting on it.
Maybe you’re one of the fortunate ones who have The Opportunity right now.
What are you going to do with The Opportunity if you’re lucky enough to be one of the chosen?
It takes courage to act on The Opportunity.
Will it be peace and contentment or lifelong angst? It’s your decision.
What could The Opportunity be that eludes most, is presented to few, and is acted on by fewer?
The Opportunity to make it right.
What is: TO KNOW LESS and DISCOVER MORE?
I think it means that whatever I’m holding on to for dear life is an impediment to learning something new. Something knew is better than something known. If the knowing is past tense and ephemeral then new discoveries will abound. If knowing is a constant, there will be little room for newness to pop in. There is an attitude that goes along with I know. The attitude is a repellant to others, and it is an “I’m right” mindset that justifies holding on. Letting go takes on a new meaning in this light. Letting go of what you know lets you see more of the show. You pay attention more when you don’t know. It’s certainty that has you miss something. Trust is letting go of what you know while anticipating that an appropriate response will take its place. It’s very similar to a small restaurant that has limited seating. If you have 7 tables and you keep three of them occupied by the same people all evening, then your influx of new customers will be more limited. If you have all 7 tables recycle customers throughout the evening, you will have access to more customers. Any restaurant owner will tell you that new business is necessary for growth. If you’re not growing, you’re knowing.
The payoff for knowing is a limited attention span. A limited attention span will always lead to boredom because you will be dealing with the same thoughts over and over again. A person is a bore to themselves long before they bore others. I got tired of hearing myself spout the same stories that justified what I knew. Those stories were stale, I was stale, and the knowing was like cement. You have access to everything when you know nothing. When you know, you shut off the flow. Knowing is a limitation.
